Whether you want the sound of a live full orchestra or a band, maybe you prefer the sounds of a disc jockey with an mc with the sounds of the original artists, there is no substitute for quality.
Determine your budget and shop for the best quality for your dollars. Never go for quantity. It is much better to have a quality 5 or 6 piece band than a poorly put together 10 or 12 piece orchestra that “visually” will look better but on that can just read music.
You want your band to feed off the guests’ energy and follow the flow of the party to keep your guests up and dancing all night long.
The same rings true with a disc jockey that comes with all the “bells and whistles”. Any company can provide lighting and plasma screens. The company that you real want at your affair is the one that can take all the components, including the lighting and screens along with a fantastic mc and dj, and leave your guests saying “we danced the night away”.
Check with your catering hall for their list of recommended vendors, who know the room setup and the acoustics and who are more apt to give you only what will work for your room, not what they can sell to you.
Either way, the band or dj music sets the energy of your affair and should reflect your personality.
